On Thursday, Eric Church posted another cryptic video that seemed to show that today, November 4, there would be a big announcement. Now that announcement's been made.
Eric just announced that his new album will, as predicted, be called "The Outsiders" and will hit stores February 11.
Eric also plans to possibly piss off country fans by having a "metal moment" when he performs The Outsiders, the first single from his upcoming album, for the first time at the Wednesday night's CMA Awards.
“Could be crowd-surfing, could be mosh pits,” Church said. “They could be throwing cans at me.”
As for what kind of songs fans can expect from the new album, Eric says there's three love songs and some funny stuff too.
“They’re bold,” Church said. “I’m interested to see what people think about them. I always say the songs are mine till the moment we release them, then they’re the fans’ (songs). I’m very anxious. I have a lot of anxiety to see what people think about what we’ve done.”
Eric's quickly becoming one of my favorites and so I will definitely be waiting impatiently for February 11.
The CMA Awards will air this Wednesday night on ABC.
