Wisconsin native, Josh Thompson, has officially made his come back into the country music world. Josh is most recognized for his past singles such as "Beer On The Table" and "Way Out Here" which were released via Columbia Records back in 2009 and 2010. In Sept. 2012 Josh signed with Show-Dog Universal, which is also home to Toby Keith. In August he released his new single to country radio titled "Cold Beer With Your Name On It." The song is pleasantly written and sticks to your brain like glue. It's a catchy tune that has a unique spin on missing someone. Josh Thompson is incredible at everything he does. His songwriting skills? Genius. His voice? Vigorous. He is everything country music needs, especially in a time where pop is taking over our genre. Country music needs a super hero and Josh Thompson just might be wearing a cape.
1. What is your favorite thing about country music?
It has always been considered the common folks music and that's why I love it. It's real life.
2. Who inspired you musically?
Merle Haggard was among the largest musical influence. Anything where the lyrics were real.
3. If you could duet with any female artist, who would you pick?
Patty Loveless, Leann Womack or Nora Jones.
4. Do you have a favorite place to perform?
Probably the Opry, although it is the most difficult for me. The prestige is enough to make your nerves get off-kilter.
5. Beer or whiskey?
Depends on the day. Right now? Beer.
6. Favorite restaurant in Nashville?
Judge Beans. Love their brisket burritos.
7. If your life was a movie, what would the title be?
Hang on.
8. Out of all the song's you've written, do you have a favorite?
Yeah but that changes often. Out of all the songs I've written that most people would know of would be "Sinner."
9. Any new projects in the works for you?
My second album is in the works. "Cold Beer With Your Name On It" is the first single off the project. Not sure of a release date yet.
