Chart Roundup – Week of October 26th, 2013

Yet again, Luke Bryan’s
‘That’s My Kind of Night’ dominates both Hot Country Songs and Country Digital
Songs. It’s also moved up to #3 on Country Airplay, and I can imagine will top
that chart too next week. ‘Crash My Party’ has dropped to #2 on Top Country
Albums, knocked from #1 by Cassadee Pope’s
country debut ‘Frame By Frame’, which has pushed the lead single ‘Wasting All
These Tears’ to #10 on Hot Country Songs, #4 on Country Digital Songs and #24
on Country Airplay.

Thomas Rhett’s ‘It
Goes Like This’ has hit #1 on radio, holding onto #2 on Hot Country Songs and
#3 on Country Digital Songs, leading up to the release of his equally-titled
debut album on October 29. Jason Aldean’s
‘Night Train’ has moved back up to #3 on Hot Country Songs, although it drops
to #6 on Country Digital Songs and #4 on Country Airplay. His album has fallen
off the Top Country Albums top 10, down to #12. Meanwhile, Blake Shelton’s ‘Mine Would Be You’ remains a steady contender, #5
on Country Digital Songs, #4 on Hot Country Songs (its current peak) and #6 on
Country Airplay, topped by Tim McGraw’s
‘Southern Girl’ at #5, #9 on Hot Country Songs and #18 on Country Digital
Songs. Blake’s ‘Based On A True Story…’ drops to #10 on Top Country Albums, and
will likely fall out of the top 10 next week, the first time since its release
last March.

Billy Currington’s
‘Hey Girl’ is also jostling for glory, #2 this week on radio while #5 on Hot
Country Songs and #14 on Country Digital Songs, while ‘We Are Tonight’ falls to
#14 on Top Country Albums. Also on a downer is Tyler Farr’s ‘Redneck Crazy’, which a few weeks after the album’s
release is losing its momentum. The single is down to #7 on Hot Country Songs,
#9 on Country Airplay and #11 on Country Digital Songs, while the album is down
to #7. Meanwhile Florida Georgia Line
are beginning to be back in the game, their latest single ‘Stay’ making huge
advances on each chart even though it’s just been released, and ‘Cruise’ has
gained a place to #6 on Hot Country Songs, although it’s dropped to #9 on
Country Digital Songs. ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ is down to #4.

Another hot track is Chris
’s ‘Aw Naw’, now reaching #8 on Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs,
and #12 on Country Digital Songs, fighting with Lee Brice’s ‘Parking Lot Party’, which is at #7 on Country Airplay
and #14 on Hot Country Songs. Keith
’s ‘We Were Us’ (featuring Miranda
) is another one to watch, and this week gains to #10 on Country
Airplay, #8 on Country Digital Songs, and #11 on Hot Country Songs. New
releases include Kenny Rogers’ ‘You
Can’t Make Old Friends’ (#9 on Top Country Albums), and Chase Rice’s ‘Ready Set Roll’ (#2 on Country Digital Songs) .
Honorable mentions go to David Nail,
Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Taylor Swift,
Parmalee and Darius Rucker.

That’s it for this week, check back next Thursday for
another Billboard chart roundup from me!

I’m glad Cassadee crashed Luke Bryan’s party! Joe Nichols sold 15,105 copies to enter the BB200 at No.17 (#3 Country), Kenny Rogers logged his 24th top 10 on Top Country Albums with YOU CAN’T MAKE OLD FRIENDS No.43 on the BB200 (#9 Country Album) selling over 8,000 copies. Joey+Rory’s lovely “real country” album MADE TO LAST landed at No.44 on The Country Album Chart.
Of note Amos Lee’s MOUNTAINS OF SORROW, RIVERS OF SONG debuted at No.16 on the Billboard Top 200 (#1 Folk Album) . New at #64 on the Billboard 200 (#22 Rock Album/ #5 Folk Album) saw Patty Griffin debut with her “lost album” SILVER BELL.

Bo is a no go for Carrie Underwood

Now that Carrie Underwood is closing in on the final months of her pregnancy (she’s due this spring sometime), it’s time for her and husband Mike Fisher to get down to the business of picking a name for their son. Sounds like that’s easier said than done though.

Taylor Swift is just like us …

Taylor Swift enjoyed a holiday stroll with her family in NYC the day after she and her little brother opened a gift early…and she found out he was gifted a nerf gun that he used to take a shot at her. You know…normal things.
