Back earlier this month, Taylor Swift was briefly rumored to be dating Australian actor Brenton Thwaites. Both denied the rumors. Now comes word that they really weren't dating, just getting ready to star in a movie together.
Variety is reporting that Harvey Weinstein has confirmed that he's involved in the big screen adaption of Lois Lowry’s 1993 young adult novel, "The Giver," which will star Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes, and Alexander Skarsgard. Also signed onto the film is Taylor and Brenton.
"The Giver has always been a favorite book of mine and my kids," TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein said in a statement Friday. "We could not have assembled a more impressive cast for this project behind Lois Lowry’s beautiful novel and the directorial talents of Phil Noyce, and are tremendously excited to commence production."
This will be Taylor's fifth acting role. She's had parts in "New Girl" and "CSI" on television and in movies including "The Lorax" and "Valentine's Day." She's also been tied to various other movies, although most of those have proven to just be rumors.
It's not clear what part Taylor will play in the film.
"The Giver" will begin filming in Cape Town, South Africa on October 7 and is scheduled to hit theaters August 15, 2014.
Update: According to EW, Taylor will play the part of Rosemary.
