Once again this week, Luke
Bryan is riding high with ‘That’s My Kind of Night’. #1 on both Hot Country
Songs and Country Digital Songs and #6 on Country Airplay, the ACM Entertainer
of the Year loses the top spot on Top Country Albums, dropping to #2. His
previous album, ‘Tailgates & Tanlines’ is still at #9 on that chart
however, and his past single ‘Crash My Party’ has made #10 on Country Digital
Songs and #13 on Hot Country Songs. No small feat.
He was knocked from #1 on Top Country Albums by Keith Urban’s new one ‘Fuse’, selling
98k in its first week but not helping the single ‘Little Bit of Everything’,
which has dropped to #9 on Country Airplay, down from #2 last week. It’s also
fallen 11 places to #21 on Country Digital Songs, and is down to #8 on Hot
Country Songs. Ouch. However, Keith’s new single ‘We Were Us’ featuring Miranda Lambert is making a little more
ground. At #8 on Country Digital Songs, #29 on Country Airplay and #24 on Hot
Country Songs in its debut week, this looks set to be a big track.
Also making headway on the charts is Sheryl Crow, whose country debut ‘Feels Like Home’ came in at #3 on
Top Country Albums. In addition, ‘Easy’ re-entered Hot Country Songs at #21,
and has jumped 10 places to #9 on Country Digital Songs. Florida Georgia Line are of course key players, still #1 on Country
Airplay with ‘Round Here’, while elsewhere it’s at #4 on Hot Country Songs and
#7 on Country Digital Songs. In addition, ‘Cruise’ is at #4 on that chart,
while it’s dropped to #6 on Hot Country Songs, and their album ‘Here’s To The
Good Times’ is at #4. Jason Aldean’s
‘Night Train’ is rising slowly at the top, #2 on Hot Country Songs and Country
Airplay, while it’s #5 on Country Digital Songs. Let’s also not forget that ‘Night
Train’ is sticking to #7 on Top Country Albums either.
Tyler Farr seems
to be the dark horse of country music at the moment, because his ‘Redneck Crazy’
is suddenly at #2 on Country Digital Songs, #3 on Hot Country Songs and #5 on
Country Airplay and I’m not even sure how he got there. His album comes out in
a couple of weeks, definitely one to watch. Thomas Rhett’s hanging around the top 5 too and he also has an
upcoming debut album, title track ‘It Goes Like This’ is currently at #3 on
Country Digital Songs, #7 on Country Airplay and #5 on Hot Country Songs. Then
with Justin Moore’s new album ‘Off
The Beaten Path’ released just a couple of days ago, the lead single ‘Point At
You’ has enjoyed a bit of a boost. It’s now at #3 on Country Airplay and #10 on
Hot Country Songs, and there are huge predictions for album sales next week.
Billy Currington
has just announced a new album too, and ‘Hey Girl’ has soared to #4 on Country
Airplay, with boosts to #7 on Hot Country Songs and #12 on Country Digital
Songs. Then there’s Blake Shelton’s ‘Mine
Would Be You’, which has risen to #9 on Hot Country Songs this week, as well as
#6 on Country Digital Songs and #13 on Country Airplay, while ‘Based On A True
Story…’ is still holding out at #5 on Top Country Albums. That’s not to mention
Blake’s previous hit with the Pistol
Annies, ‘Boys Round Here’, which is still on the chart at #18 on Hot
Country Songs and #13 on Country Digital Songs. Pretty impressive.
New releases not yet mentioned include George Jones’ ‘Amazing Grace’, coming in at #34 on Top Country
Albums. Honorable mentions this week go to Easton
Corbin, Lee Brice, Tim McGraw, Chris Young, Taylor Swift,
Randy Houser and Brett Eldredge. That’s it for this
week, but come back next Thursday for another chart roundup!
