Lady attacks police after friend compared to Dolly Parton

Dolly
I could think of a lot worse things in the world than to be compared to Dolly Parton, but apparently some people think that's a pretty bad insult.

A woman in the UK kind of lost her mind last month when she went to a detention center to visit someone and ended up tussling with cops, all because one of the officers made a comment comparing her friend to Dolly Parton.

And yes, in case you're wondering, alcohol was involved.

On July 13, 45-year-old Gillian Graham and her friend decided to go to the Deerbolt Young Offenders’ Institution to visit an inmate. Unfortunately, there was some mix-up regarding visiting hours and Gillian and her friend got in a tussle with a guard. Police were called and that's when things got ugly.

One of the responding officers made a derogatory comment that involved Gillian's friend and Dolly Parton. Gillian took offense and ended up biting one policeman on the arm and kicking another in the shin.

“It would appear one of the prison officers made an inappropriate remark about the lady who was with my client being similar to Dolly Parton and my client took offence at this,” Graham's attorney said during her appearance in court this week.

“Things escalated from there and were not helped by the fact Ms. Graham had consumed alcohol.”

According to the attorney, Gillian had just lost her job and was going through a tough time and that she is mortified by the whole situation.

Graham ended up pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place and two charges of assaulting a police office and ended up with a 12-month conditional discharge and had to pay fines.

All's well that ends well. Now if we could just find out exactly what that offending Dolly Parton reference was.
