Back at the end of May, I told you that Tracy Lawrence had launched a Kickstarter campaign to see if he could get his next album, "Headlights, Taillights and Radios," funded by fans. At about the same time, Jo Dee Messina also launched a Kickstarter campaign for her new album.
One month later, the news was all over that Jo Dee's album had reached and exceeded it's goal thanks in large part to her team sending out a press release celebrating the news, but there was no word about Tracy's project. Unfortunately, I totally forgot about poor Tracy's album … until now.
Yes, things just randomly pop in my head like that.
So anyway, I just headed over to Tracy's Kickstarter page and am happy to report that his campaign to raise $50,000 was also a success. All in all he ended up raising $52,779 thanks to the help of 279 loyal fans.
At the time, Tracy thanked fans on Twitter for the success:
I'm so grateful for all you guys making my @kickstarter project a success! So excited to share the new album with you! #TL2013

Congrats to Tracy on his successful funding. "Headlights, Taillights and Radios" is set to be released August 20, 2013 (CD from Amazon, Amazon digital download, and iTunes)
Now here's the lyric video for Tracy's new single Footprints on the Moon.
