The
Deer Lodge has announced a new George Jones Tribute album to be released in
December 2013. The Southeast Portland underground record label and recording studio will be
producing the album, which will consist of entirely new
recordings.
Several
favorite local artists representing multiple genres will be contributing tracks
to the album, which will serve as a unique look at the work of one of music’s
greatest voices.
Deer
Lodge Records was founded in 2003 by Ezra Meredith and has released albums by local artists Morgan Geer (Drunken Prayer), Hearts
of Oak, Drugstore Cowboy, Gabe Rozzell and the Decency and
NoPoMoJo.
Meredith
and LA-based producer Bert Sperling are curating the project.
