Wow. Well here's a bit of surprising happy news — Garth Brooks has reportedly become a first-time granddaddy.
According to Taste of Country, Garth's middle daughter, 19-year-old August, gave birth to a baby girl named Karalynn on Tuesday, July 23.
The proud papa is Chance Russell who went to high school with August. The two aren't married but since August has liked quite a few engagement rings on her Facebook, that's maybe the next step in the pair's life together.
Congrats to Garth on the happy addition to the family.
Update: Garth confirmed the baby news via a news release.
"Our family would first like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and sweet celebration of Baby K's arrival," he said. "Our children's lives have always been extremely private and they have been endlessly encouraged to be their own people. We have always wanted them to be individuals and NOT be known as 'someone's daughters.'"
He added: "I have been amazed and grateful how the press has always respected this. I now ask that respect to please continue as this young family begins the greatest days of their lives."
