Carrie Underwood shares a great workout tip

Carrie Underwood is in awesome shape and now she's shared a workout tip us normal folk can actually use and that sounds kind of fun. 

This is actually an old tip from last year when she was on the cover of Shape Magazine, but for some reason it just popped up in my feed reader. It was the first I had heard of it so I'm sharing it now.

The Self April cover girl recently shared one of her go-to ways to burn 600 calories: the deck of cards workout.

To do the workout, all you need is a deck of cards and a list of your favorite exercises. Assign a body part for each suit (hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs), then write relevant exercises on each one — Carrie splits the deck in half and changes the exercise for each half. The number on the card represents the amount of reps you do. After that all you need to do is shuffle the cards and start drawing!

The deck of cards workout is a great way to have fun in your workouts while burning major calories. "Having different exercises for each half of the deck keeps me from getting bored. I make sure there's a joker in each half — that's a mile run on the treadmill. Then I go through the whole deck. With a 15-minute warm-up on the elliptical, it takes about an hour and a half total, but it's fun because you've designed the workout yourself," Carrie told Self. "Sometimes I'll make spades boxing and beat the crap out of the bag for however many punches the number on the card says."
