Carrie Underwood added to Toby Keith’s Oklahoma fundraiser (from the mailbag)

Carrie Underwood has been added to the lineup for the Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert on July 6. Due to her previously scheduled show at the Grand Ole Opry, the Oklahoma native's performance will be aired via satellite from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville to the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman. 

In addition to Toby Keith, performers will include Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson, Sammy Hagar, Ronnie Dunn, Mel Tillis and John Anderson. More artists are being added to the line up and will be announced on a future date. Ford Trucks, Verizon Wireless, Academy of Country Music Lifting Lives, and Walmart are on board as sponsors. In addition to sponsoring the relief concert, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have committed , $ 1 million to Oklahoma tornado relief. Sponsorship donations and underwriting of the concert, and donated services from suppliers and vendors from all over the country, will allow the net proceeds of tickets (after tax and credit card fees) to benefit the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund to aid recovery efforts.

Tim McGraw announces next single … Southern Girl (from the mailbag)

 

Country superstar Tim McGraw's "Southern Girl" is being released to radio today
as the fourth single from his Big Machine Records debut, TWO LANES OF FREEDOM.

) track has had an infectious reaction from fans on
the TWO LANES OF FREEDOM 2013 Tour, which continues to sell out venues coast to
coast.  
 
"At the beginning of the tour, we threw a lot of new songs into
the set list, and that's always a risky thing when an album is so brand new,"
said McGraw.  "It didn’t take a whole weekend out there before the girls were
shouting at us to play 'Southern Girl.'  The song has a really cool groove to it
that just gets everyone moving and sets the right tone for a perfect summer
night."

Travis Tritt and Daughter Tyler Reese Duet for “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” (from the mailbag)

Travis Tritt, one of Country music's most-beloved "bad boys," has released a
cover of "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," which he
performs in a duet with his 15-year-old daughter, Tyler Reese. Written by Patti
Smyth and Glen Burtnik, the famous rock ballad first
appeared on Smyth's self-titled 1992 album, on which she sang the successful
single with Don Henley. Along with his daughter Tyler, Tritt takes a Country
turn on this new version, which is the first single the entertainer has released
