Kellie Pickler’s friend Summer heads to California to watch her dance

Kellie and Summer
This is so inspiring.

As most folks know, late last year Kellie Pickler revealed that her best friend of years, Summer, had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would be undergoing immediate treatment. Kellie even shaved her head as a sign of solidarity and love.

The happy news is that Summer is getting better and has now finished up with the harshest of the chemotherapy. She's even hopped a plane and is flying with her mother to California to see her "baby sister" (Kellie) dance on "Dancing With The Stars."

Summer writes on her online journal

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to travel any to see Kellie in Dancing With The Stars but here I am – on my way!! Before I left I got my nails done (quite an accomplishment for my nail technician Shanna due to the fact that all my nails came off) and also had my hair colored blonde (which was also an accomplishment for my hairdresser Brittanie since my hair is not even an inch long yet). I also talked my dear friend Genny into finding time in her very busy schedule to spray-tan me on Friday evening. Needless to say, I feel like a million bucks!

Last week Kellie had her husband, Kyle, performing on the show while she danced and now this week she will have her most inspirational friend there to provide support. Kellie is probably the luckiest gal in reality T.V. right now.
