Famous voices record songs written by children’s hospital patients

Everybody Has a STory
What a wonderful idea this is.

A group of famous folks including Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Phil Vassar, Alison Kraus, Kix Brooks and Faith Hill have all lent their voices to a very special project.

Patients from Vanderbilt Children's Hospital who take part in the hospital's music therapy program recently set their very wise thoughts, prayers, and feelings to music and had the opportunity to have some of music's biggest names record their songs for a very special new CD called "Everybody Has a Story."

"There is no normal. There is no regular. There is no perfect day," one patient's lyrics read.

The idea for the CD came when music therapist, Jenny Plume, read what the children were writing.

"One day I thought, ‘We are in Nashville. We have amazing artists here. Maybe we could get them to sing the songs and make a bigger production of it,'" she said.

And sing the amazing artists did. The result of the collaboration is a CD packed full of heartfelt songs that is now available for preorder. Fans can take a listen to snippets of each of the songs and preorder the CD, which comes out May 14, here.
