I'm starting to think it might be a good idea for country stars and their band members to stay at least 100 feet away from any motorized vehicles because there's been far too many of them getting into accidents lately.
Fortunately, this one doesn't involve anyone dying.
Country bad boy, David Allan Coe, has been hospitalized in Ocala, Florida after allegedly running a red light and being hit by a semi truck.
Ocala Police Department Lt. Corey Taylor told ABC Action News this morning that the singer/songwriter was traveling in a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban around 1:30 a.m. when he approached an intersection, but for some reason failed to stop at a red light. That's when truck driver, Robert Johnson, from California hit Coe's vehicle.
Coe's Suburban was sent into a parking lot while Johnson's tractor trailer overturned.
Coe, Johnson, and Johnson's passenger, Lisa Mead, were all sent to local hospitals. Coe had to be removed from his car by firefighters with the Jaws of Life.
Coe has initially been found at fault and was issued a ticket. All three accident victims are said to be suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
