Watch out Nashville, there is a new fella in town. Austin Webb, a South Carolina native is known for his charisma when it comes to writing songs. He paints a perfect picture with every song he writes. He grew up listening to a mixture of R&B, Rock & Classic Country but his own music is jam packed with soul. He moved to Nashville after winning a songwriting competition and it wasn't long until he was signing a publishing deal. After hearing his amazing music, I knew I had to find out more about this carolina boy. Check out my interview with Austin below, and for all you redheads your in luck because I hear Mr.Charming himself adores redheads!
How long have you been playing/writing music?
I started writing poetry and playing harmonica at the age of nine. I started playing guitar and piano when I was 16 years old.
What is your favorite song that you've written?
Of course I'm going to say "It's All Good" considering it's my first single on the radio. This song was written in 45 minutes on my buddy's porch, over a half pack of cigarettes, a gallon of sweet tea and lots of chicken alfredo on a hot hot summer day. After having just woke up next to my then girlfriend, I was inspired to write a song that was happy and exciting but not a party song. It's about being in love and not worrying about mundane problems of life.
What country artists do you currently listen to?
Kris Kristofferson, Jason Aldean, Eric Church and Darius Rucker.
Favorite place to perform?
It is certainly my home state of South Carolina.
Favorite place to shop?
I shop at Walmart and Goodwill most of the time and I order all my jeans from Levi's.
Do you have a life motto?
My dad always says "Do what's right." I try to live by that.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Free time? What's that?
Beer or whiskey?
What is your future goal in this crazy world of country music?
To be happy and to change mine and other people's lives for the better with three and a half minute songs.
Is there anything you want the world to know about Austin Webb?
I'm really into Autism awareness.
