Blake Shelton now taking part in The Bible

Wow, when Blake Shelton said he was cleaning up his act for 2013, he wasn't kidding!

Last night Blake had tweeted about a new video featuring him singing New Kid In Town. He said: "So excited to share with you this awesome video for #NewKidinTown featuring the@bibleseries airing 3.3.13"

When I followed the link it was to a music video that featured him singing and scenes straight out of the Bible.

My first thought was what? My second was that some fan had made a video for one of Blake's songs and he was giving them props. I know, I know, reading Blake's tweet should have given me the first inkling that it wasn't fan made, but I'm a little thick sometimes.

The video is actually Blake backed and endorsed and was made for a new series called The Bible that will be airing on March 3, 2013, on The History Channel.

Here's all the info from the email I got.

We are gearing up for the holidays and wanted to thank you for all of your help making our Cee Lo Green "Mary Did You Know" a huge success with more than 1.5 million views and counting!

Now, we have a brand new music video also previewing THE BIBLE series with country music superstar Blake Shelton singing "New Kid in Town" from his holiday album Cheers, It's Christmas! This is a special solo version of the song exclusive for fans THE BIBLE series — on the album, Kelly Clarkson sings alongside The Voice judge.

THE BIBLE is an epic 10-hour television series produced by Roma Downey (Touched By an Angel) and Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Celebrity Apprentice) premiering on 3/3/13 on History Channel, and Blu-ray and DVD soon after. Downey plays Mother Mary and Emmy-winner Keith David provides voice-overs throughout. Oscar- and Grammy-award winning composer Hans Zimmer created the musical score to the iconic saga.
