Blake Shelton’s dad’s obituary

Blake Shelton's dad

I’ve had quite a few people coming here searching for Blake Shelton’s father’s obituary the last two days so I went searching and found it.  It’s not really news, but I know a lot of fans are interested and since I consider an obituary a tribute to someone who was tremendously loved, it seems fitting to post it.

Regarding Blake Shelton’s dad’s obituary: Sorry to be a spoiler, but if, as the obituary claims, Mr. Shelton senior was born in 1940, then the US army must have recruited 12 to 14 year olds to fight in the Korean war of 1950 to 1952. The obituary claims Mr. Shelton senior was a veteran of the Korean war, and was a member of the Honor Guard.

its very possible he joined at 13, i know a relative that had just turned 14 when he joined the army and went to the korean war. They lied about their age back then to join. I have a photo of blakes father in uniform back then, he was very young! (Blakes grandfather DT Shelton was my great grandmothers brother.
