Did you get all that?
I know confusing, huh?
Lee Crites is a Tim McGraw impersonator – and a darn good one – and now he’s going to step up and help out the real Tim, or at least Team McGraw.
Lee is currently training to run the New York City Marathon to raise money for Tim’s dad’s charity, the Tug McGraw Foundation, through Team McGraw.
Lee says, “Since I started training, I’ve gained so much more awareness of what brain cancers and tumors and brain trauma are all about,” he said. “So many people are affected (by brain cancer), including family and friends (of patients). I’ve had people give me the change in their pockets, and that’s great. You’re touching somebody’s life no matter what you’re able to give.”
Lee was approached by Jeff McMahon, Tim McGraw’s keyboardist, who is also the director of Team McGraw, and asked if he would like to be a part of the team. Crites jumped at the chance and now just needs to raise $3,000 in order to run in the marathon, which takes place in November.
If you would like to help Lee reach his $3,000 goal, you can visit his fundraising page here.
The Tug McGraw Foundation was (according to their website) established in 2003 to enhance the quality of life of children and adults with brain tumors and in 2009 expanded programs to include Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD), and Trauma Brain Injury, (TBI). We collaborate and partner with other organizations so that we can accelerate new treatments and cures to improve quality of life in areas of physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual impact of those debilitating conditions.
And here’s Lee performing as Tim.
