Need a little motivation this Monday? How about realizing that there are tens of thousands of people right now who are putting foot to pavement in Boston, Massachusetts to run the annual Boston Marathon?
That’ll force you to get that Monday workout in, won’t it?
Eleven years ago today, one of country music’s iconic female artists, Jo Dee Messina, completed the Boston Marathon herself. The Massachusetts native grew up about thirty miles west of the capital city and decided to tour it in a way she never had before — by foot beside many others. Though Messina injured her knee mid-course, she finished the 26.2 mile trek and crossed the coveted finish line. Messina’s April 17, 2006 Boston Marathon medal is one in her collection of bling to prove her training dedication and athleticism.
Congratulations to Jo Dee Messina on an anniversary that the majority of us will never be able to celebrate, and good luck to all of those who are out there today making April 17, 2017 one they will never forget!
