It’s equal parts the most dreaded and most anticipated time of the year — Girl Scout cookie time! For those of you who are like me and have a tremendous sweet tooth while trying to stay fit, you are drooling over the many photos on social media and trying to avoid those adorable little salespeople at all costs. For those who are happy to cave for the cause, you are likely already stashing your goods in your pantries, fridges, and freezers.
For the latter, country artist SaraBeth has a song just for you, and if you haven’t yet placed your orders, made your purchases, or tracked down a uniformed sweetheart, the tune will encourage you to get on your horse and quit dilly dallying. Last year, while SaraBeth was a guest on Bowling Green, KY’s WGGC‘s Moose Lodge during “Write a Song Wednesday,” she penned a song called “Girl Scout Cookie Monster” with her musical partner Glen Mitchell.
“Girl Scout Cookie Monster” is a song I wrote with Glen Mitchell, live, in studio at WGGC in Bowling Green, KY and they gave us a random topic and we had less than an hour to write the song and it’s crazy because you never know what will resonate with your fans. I wrote a song about Girl Scout cookies and people absolutely loved it. There’s been thousands of shares and nearly 300,000 views which is just insane but really exciting at the same time. I’m just glad everyone loves Girl Scout cookies as much as I do.
Listen to SaraBeth’s “Girl Scout Cookie Monster” below and once your craving kicks in, whip out a few bucks and satisfy it. If you need to rationalize the calories, just remember it’s a selfless act for the children.
