We had the pleasure of interviewing the hilarious and talented The Swon Brothers first thing this morning at the Chevy Cruze Park Stage as part of our NashvilleGab partnership with AT&T. Talk about a perfect way to jumpstart CMA Fest!

Colton and Zach Swon just completed their first leg on Carrie Underwood’s Storyteller Tour and are working on new music as they await the next leg of the mega tour starring one of country music’s most fierce and respected females. Now, if you know anything about the Swons, it is that they are absolute comedians, so we couldn’t resist asking the guys, in the spirit of the Underwood opening slot, to tell us their best story from the Storyteller Tour.

Colton did not skip a beat before driving the proverbial bus right over his big bro. As soon as the story started with “on the first night of the tour,” Zach knew what was coming and immediately asked his brother if he was going to tell THAT. Without pause, Colton excitedly said “yes!”

In true “behind-the-scenes” fashion, Colton explained that the very high tech stage used on the tour is beyond anything they are used to, so entering to duet with the headliner was quite the adventure. Having to rise from underneath the stage, Zach somehow hit his head and was knocked unconscious. When he came to, he asked if there was any blood, and Colton assured him — deceivingly — that there was not. It turns out that tall hair of Zach’s created a sturdy wall around a bloody mess, and the injured Swon pulled through the performance like a true champion.

Zach, we applaud you for being such a trouper. Colton, we thank you for being so quick to hop in that driver’s seat and rag on your other half!
