Number 1 artist Jerrod Niemann recently inked a new record deal with the illustrious Curb Records. Following a six-year run of recording and touring successes with his former label, Niemann found a home with a little more love … and released a song of the same name with his longtime friend and, now, labelmate, Lee Brice.
Though Niemann’s career recently underwent a change, the singer-songwriter couldn’t be happier and feel more at home at the label that has housed country music greats, such as Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, and LeAnn Rimes, and currently works with Brice, Wynonna, Ashley Gearing, and more. Niemann shared:
The ride on the Curb train has been unreal. To have so many friends already a part of Curb Records, it’s like a big family reunion. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know my new brothers and sisters at the label, as well.
One of those brothers, who has been a friend of Niemann’s over the years, is Brice. The two had always wanted to work on a project together, and with Niemann joining the Curb family, the timing could not have been better for Brice to find the perfect song for the pair.
Lee heard the song and sent it to me. We’d been looking for music to record together for years. We both instantly knew this is the one we’d been looking for.
Once the two realized “A Little More Love” was the right tune for a collaboration, Niemann and Brice headed to the studio to bring the song to life. Rather than recording their parts separately and having them mixed together during production, the friends and colleagues decided to share in the moments together. The result of the studio time was a memory that Niemann will forever hold close.
I have so much respect for Lee as a friend and a musician. We both have our own styles, but to get in the studio and try different ideas was one of my favorite memories since I’ve lived in Nashville. We sang our vocals at the same time in the same room like they did in the old days. We had a blast and I hope that’s obvious when you hear the song.
When you hear the song, you will come to realize that the music is simply good for the soul; and when you add in the vocals from two immeasurable talents, “A Little More Love” is a song you can’t help but love. To Niemann, a tune of this nature is exactly what he needs to escape the hustle and bustle of life, and his goal is to give his fans the same.
Feel good music has always taken me on a temporary vacation. When I record music, I want to take the listener with me.
Based on the enormous response to the song, it seems as though Niemann’s wish has been the crowd’s command.
The message of this song means a lot to us and the crowds have been jumping right in with us. Our fans are the best!
The recording artists and fans aren’t the only ones who are very much on the wagon of those who love the song. If you ask Curb Records founder, Mike Curb, “A Little More Love” is a guaranteed future chart-topper. And the appreciation Curb feels for Niemann and his excitement about the song was very much reciprocated by his new signee. Niemann expressed tremendous respect for Curb, honoring his knowledge and experience in the field.
As to Curb’s prediction, Niemann was a little tight-lipped, but, of course, artists don’t typically want to jinx the ultimate success of their work. So, while Niemann’s hopes for this song are high, his focus is mostly on the longevity of the appreciation it receives.
Mike Curb is a brilliant guy and has been doing this longer successfully than anyone I know. I personally just am so excited have new music out there. Every song has its own life, hopefully this one will never grow old!
“A Little More Love” has officially been released as a radio single, and we cannot wait to see the impact it makes on the country music industry. Watch a live performance of the song below and download a copy off iTunes today!
