Blake Shelton is known to be a class clown on country music’s A-List. In fact, the man with the longest running Number 1 streak in country music history was on Twitter first thing this morning, laughing off relationship and pregnancy rumors and engaging a bitter (for lack of a better term) individual.
However, even Blake has moments of sadness — he is human, after all — and he displayed that earlier today when he posted about a twenty-five year void he has had in his life.
Wow… 25 years ago today we lost my brother Richie Shelton. He's still my hero going strong. Wish everyone could've known him.

Richie is the inspiration for the Miranda Lambert song “Over You“, which was penned by Miranda and Blake. The song climbed the charts to Number 1, and later experienced additional chart success when Cassadee Pope covered it on The Voice.
We send our thoughts to Blake and his family today as they remember Richie Shelton on the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death.
