There’s no denying that the Grand Ole Opry is one of the most magical places in country music. I’d liken it to the Disney World of country music, and last night, the Mickey and Minnie (go with me here) of the country world appeared for a surprise appearance.
While the show’s bill included the likes of Lauren Alaina, the Gatlin Brothers and Vince Gill, country’s royal couple showed up for a surprise performance: Garth Books and Trisha Yearwood.
According to the Tennessean, Yearwood took the stage first after being introduced by Gill. She admitted that she did’t have a band with her, but instead, brought her own guitar player, her husband Garth Brooks.
The pair sang a medley of hits, including “She’s in Love with the Boy,” “After The Fire Is Gone,” “I Don’t Want To Have To Marry You” and “Golden Ring.”
In this case, we’re thankful that what happens at the Opry…ends up all over the Internet.
