Forbes has once again released their 100 most powerful celebrities issue and look who made it on the cover … it's Toby Keith.

The money mag has a whole article dedicated to Toby and says:

Keith’s commercial chops, overlaying a wide patriotic appeal, have created the most vertically integrated performer in the music business–and a one-man cash machine. FORBES estimates that Keith pulled in $65 million over the last 12 months–more than any musician not named Madonna, Lady Gaga or Bon Jovi, and easily outpacing masters of product extension like Jay-Z ($42 million), Beyoncé ($53 million) and Jennifer Lopez ($45 million).

The long-term figures are even more impressive. Over the past five years, FORBES estimates, Keith has never earned less than $48 million in a year. His cumulative take over that period: $270 million. Over his entire career–Keith has written a No. 1 country hit every year for the past two decades–his total earnings surpass $500 million. “He’s built this little empire, and he did it kind of quietly,” says concert promoter Louis Messina. “Not many people have been able to pull it off as long as he has.”

Wow! I admit that I'm completely impressed and amazed with people who just seem to do the whole money thing right. I'm the exact opposite and seem to somehow bleed money and can't hold onto a dollar to save my life. I'm hoping if I ever grow up that will all change.

At 38 years old, I'm thinking I'm running out of time to grow up.

Anyhoo, Toby made the list 100 powerful celeb list at #43, sandwiched in between two authors — E.L. James (writer of the mommy porn, Fifty Shades of Grey, #42 on the list) and James Patterson (#44, author of the Alex Cross novels).

Other country stars making the list include Taylor Swift at #6, Carrie Underwood at #46, and Kenny Chesney at #47.

The top 10 on the list include:

  1. Oprah Winfrey
  2. Lady Gaga
  3. Steven Spielberg
  4. Beyonce
  5. Madonna
  6. Taylor Swift
  7. Bon Jovi
  8. Roger Federer
  9. Justin Bieber (ugh)
  10. Ellen DeGeneres
