In choosing a tourmate, it's apparently first come, first served and Darius Rucker, unfortunately, wasn't the first one in line when it came to choosing newly-gone-country Sheryl Crow as a tour buddy.
Darius recently told the Dan Patrick Show (via Taste of Country) that he hoped to tour with Sheryl Crow saying, “I hope. I said ‘yeah,’ and I think she said ‘yeah’ too. So now it’s in the hands of all the booking agents, but I hope it happens.”
Unfortunately, if it happens it'll be further down the line as it was announced this week that Sheryl will be heading out this fall on the Free And Easy tour with Gary Allan.
“Sheryl and I met while doing some guitar pulls earlier this year and started talking about doing something together. The timing seemed right and ‘Free and Easy’ just came natural to us both,” Allan says in a press release. “If we’re near you, come on out. It’s going to be a good time.”
Crow adds, “I love Gary’s music. He puts on the kind of show that I like to go see so I am thrilled to be out with him on tour, and really look forward to be able to perform my new music to the country fans this fall.”
So far only three shows have been announced for the tour – Santa Barbara Bowl, Santa Barbara, CA September 13, The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA September 14, and Rabobank Arena, Bakersfield, CA September 15 — with more shows expected to be announced later on.
